How does Duolingo decrease churn?
When learning a language is often inherently a temporary endeavour?
As soon as a user ‘gives up’ they start to tune out notifications - and they’re unlikely to come back.
At this point, Duolingo sends what they call a passive-aggressive notification.
Because it feels personal, if the user is still a little interested in Duolingo, they’re likely to feel a bit of guilt and get back on the app.

Look for patterns of when users churn and start to change your communications with users around this time period.
Maybe even add in a passive-aggressive notification like Duo’s as your last resort.
