I signed up to Masterclass but didn’t have the energy to learn anything.
I just felt like watching Netflix.
That’s a big problem for Masterclass.
So what did they do?
Often a user will love the idea of an app or website but they simply don’t have time to give it their full attention.
Human beings are incredibly forgetful creatures. So left to their own devices, potential users will probably go away and never come back.
Giving users a simple way to be reminded of the product at a later, better-suiting time, will significantly increase conversion rates.
So why didn’t Masterclass just send me an email with some viewing recommendations?
Agreeing to be reminded, by clicking the ‘remind me’ button, sets up commitment to getting back to Masterclass at some point. Much more powerful.

Look for ‘dead ends’ for each of your different user personas. Connect up your dead ends by signing the user up to receive a relevant reminder.
Masterclass really thought deeply about how to convert and engage more of their potential users.
